Importing Booking.com reservations
As with Airbnb, this is a CSV/XLSX import, not a live Booking.com account connection — there's no OAuth "connect your Booking.com account" flow anywhere. You export a report from the Booking.com extranet yourself and import that file.
What to export from Booking.com
The Booking.com extranet's reservation reports typically export as CSV or XLSX, both of which are supported. As with any import, only check-in date, check-out date and accommodation amount are strictly required to calculate a levy — guest count, booking date, room type and commission are useful but optional.
How the import works
- 1. Local parsing. The file is parsed in your browser, not uploaded raw to a server as part of this flow.
- 2. Source detection. Column headers are checked against known Booking.com export signatures ("Reservation number", "Check in", "Check out", "Booked on", "Room type", "Commission"). Two or more matches label the file as a Booking.com export and suggest a mapping accordingly; otherwise it falls back to a generic import.
- 3. Column mapping. Each column maps to one of a fixed set of canonical fields (check-in, check-out, accommodation amount, and optional fields like currency, VAT amount and cleaning fee). Anything that looks like a guest name or contact detail — Booking.com exports commonly include a "Guest name" column — has no canonical target it can be mapped to at all, so it's discarded rather than imported.
- 4. PII stripping. Only sanitised, levy-relevant fields leave your browser — never guest names, emails or phone numbers.
Commission and net figures
Booking.com reports often show a "net" figure after commission alongside the amount the guest was charged. As with any platform, the accommodation amount used for the levy has to be the gross accommodation charge before Booking.com's commission is deducted — the same net-payout check that applies to Airbnb columns applies here too, flagging a mapped column that looks like it's already net of a fee or commission.
Stay dates, extras and VAT
Map check-in/check-out to the actual stay dates rather than a "booked on" date, and map any separately itemised extras or VAT to their own fields so they're excluded from (or correctly backed out of) the taxable accommodation base, the same as with any other import source.
Preparing a return
Once mapped, every Booking.com row is calculated by the same engine as an Airbnb import, a manual booking, or the free calculator — so a return built from bookings on both platforms adds up consistently. Problem rows are reported individually rather than blocking the whole file.
