Terms of service

Visitor Levy Calculator is a calculation and return-preparation tool for accommodation providers affected by Scotland's Visitor Levy (the “Service”), operated by Omni Digital Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”). We are an independent commercial product and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Scottish Government, any local authority, or the City of Edinburgh Council. See About.

The Service calculates estimated Visitor Levy amounts and helps you assemble figures for a quarterly return. It does not submit any return, filing, or payment to any council or local authority. Filing the actual return with your local authority and paying what is owed remains entirely your responsibility. “Filed” and “payment recorded” within the product are record-keeping fields you set yourself after doing so elsewhere — see How it works.

You must provide accurate information when registering, and you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. An organisation must always have at least one owner. You're responsible for the accuracy of the property, booking and organisation data you or your team enter — we calculate from what you give us.

We take care to calculate the Visitor Levy correctly against each council's verified, published scheme rules, and we only mark a scheme “live” once it has been independently verified. However, the Service is provided as a calculation aid, not professional tax or legal advice. You remain responsible for verifying the figures before filing a return and for complying with your obligations under the Visitor Levy (Scotland) Act 2024 and any related council guidance.

Certain plans require payment beyond a free entitlement (see Pricing). Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details directly. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings — access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Prices shown on the Pricing page are our current published prices and may change for future billing periods with reasonable notice.

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to access another organisation's data, interfering with the Service's operation, or submitting knowingly false booking data to misrepresent a Visitor Levy liability.

Our data practices, including the structural guarantee that no guest-identifying data is ever collected, are described in full in our Privacy policy and Security & Privacy architecture page.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Omni Digital Solutions Ltd is not liable for losses arising from your use of the Service, including any inaccuracy in a calculated figure that was not verified before filing, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, including non-payment or abusive use.

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
